Internships
UPDATED 1/15/2024 – The Governor’s Office won’t be hiring for the Governor’s Leadership Academy for 2024.
The Governor's Leadership Academy is a unique paid internship program for students currently enrolled in college and graduate school. Interns gain a hands-on learning experience in the Office of the Governor. Ideal applicants will be innovative, forward-thinking individuals committed to public service.
Interns focus their time in one of the following areas: Boards and Commissions, Communications, Constituent Services, Office of General Counsel, International Relations and Protocol or Washington, D.C. office.
One Governor's Leadership Academy student will be selected as a Ruth Woo Fellow. This fellowship is named after a community mentor dedicated to public service for historically disadvantaged populations and empowerment of future leaders. In addition to the Governor’s Leadership Academy experience, the Ruth Woo Fellow will have an opportunity to make important connections with community leaders, organizations and public officials representing the spirit of Ruth Woo’s life and legacy.
