Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Patricia Fassett to the Cowlitz County Superior Court today. She replaces Judge Anne Cruser who was recently appointed to the Court of Appeals, Division II.
Fassett brings 15 years of legal experience to the bench. She has spent the last seven years as a defense attorney for the Cowlitz County Office of Public Defense, working primarily in juvenile court. She has also worked as a consulting attorney for the Stone Law Firm and as deputy prosecuting attorney for the Cowlitz County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
"Patricia's many years of experience practicing law in Cowlitz County affords her a deep knowledge of the community," Inslee said. "This experience, combined with her diverse case history that ranges from bankruptcy to child sexual assault cases, will make her a valuable addition to the bench."
Fassett graduated with her law degree from Marquette University Law School, where she served as president of the Association of Women in Law. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon.
