Gov. Jay Inslee today announced that he is appointing Judge Stephen Brown to the Grays Harbor County Superior Court. Brown currently serves as District Court Judge for Grays Harbor where he was first elected in 1986. Prior to that he served as Municipal Court Judge for the City of Elma and as a Deputy Prosecutor for Grays Harbor.
“Judge Brown has an incredible record of service to Grays Harbor and a reputation for being a highly-capable and independent judge,” Inslee said. “I’m confident he’ll serve in this new role with the same drive and dedication that he’s shown during the past 30 years.”
Brown is a graduate of Elma High School, Stanford University, and earned his law degree at University of Washington. He has volunteered with the Elma McCleary Lions Club and was president of the Elma McCleary Youth Soccer Association.
Brown’s term begins in October. He is replacing Judge Gordon Godfrey who served with distinction for more than 22 years.
