Nursing, Washington State Board of
Regulates the competency and quality of licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, advanced registered nurse practitioner sand nursing technicians. Commission establishes, monitors, and enforces licensing, consistent standards of practice, continuing competency mechanisms, and discipline. It also investigates complaints against nurses and serve as a reviewing member on disciplinary cases and hearing panels.

Member Requirements: Members include three public members, three licensed practical nurses, seven registered nurses, and two advanced registered nurse practitioners. Members must be citizens of the United States and Washington state residents. Nursing members must be licensed to practice nursing in Washington with at least three years of experience and engaged in nursing practice within two years of appointment. Public members may not be a member of any other healthcare licensing board or commission, have a fiduciary obligation to a facility rendering health care services, or have a financial interest in the rendering of health care services. Members may not serve more than two consecutive full terms.
